Brights is a well-known and highly regarded local firm which has been in business for more than 140 years; we are deeply embedded in the local communities and businesses throughout Essex and beyond. We are a forward looking and highly computerised business and offer remote and flexible working from any one of our four offices in Maldon, Witham, Danbury and Tiptree.
We provide a level of service comparable to larger local and regional firms. We maintain a friendly and supportive environment and many of our staff have been with us for most if not all of their working lives. Our fee earners enjoy a level of support which is better than many of our competitors and we have a defined career structure; we actively look to advance fee earners to associate and full directorship.
We offer a full range of benefits including pension contributions, free healthcare and five weeks holiday (as well as an additional four or five days holiday over the Christmas period) and a bonus structure. We also provide structured training and development for all staff and embrace remote working to suit the needs of our staff and their families and part time and flexible working hours.
We currently have the following vacancies:
Private Client Lawyer
We are currently looking for two additional fee earners to supplement our existing team, one at a lower level of qualification (from newly qualified to two years PQE) and the other at a more senior level (at least five years PQE). No following is required.
We have a very busy department providing a full range of services, from simple wills and powers of attorney to detailed estate planning and administration of high value and complex estates involving cross border issues. We also specialise in contentious probates. We can guarantee a varied and interesting caseload depending upon the candidate’s level of experience with full support in terms of mentoring and secretarial cover.
Junior Conveyancer
We are looking for a junior conveyancer with one or two years’ experience in fee earning work (no qualifications are required although we will be happy to sponsor any newcomer to seek new or further qualifications). This recruitment will be part of the expansion of our current team to assist with the increasing workload. No following is required.
Our residential team enjoys very high levels of support and a great case management and reporting system to allow the fee earners to concentrate on legal work and we are consistently busy whatever the market conditions. We offer a personalised service to all our clients and have very high levels of repeat business and work from referrals. It is a friendly team and any new member will soon feel at home.
Litigation Solicitor
The team is currently looking for a three to four year qualified solicitor to work in general practice but with experience in (or a desire to learn) contentious probate and and 1975 Act claims. The role will be fully supported by our existing team and senior members of our private client team.
